About BioDAO

Mission

Create a global democratic biotech ecosystem focused on identifying, funding, and supporting real-world biotech projects to accelerate biotech innovation and solve humanity’s most pressing challenges.

Goal

For society, our goal is to bring forth 25-30 new therapies per year in the next 5 years and eliminate $100B+ of deadweight loss to society resulting from the suboptimal legacy approach to biotech funding. For BioDAO members, our goal is to build and empower a community of biotech innovators that have a reliable funding source for the ecosystem and democratized access to talent.

Why should I join BioDAO?

Being a BioDAO member means, first and foremost, being part of the community and having long-term alignment with the organization's goals and mission to improve healthcare. BioDAO gives members an opportunity to support research to cure diseases they care about and contribute their skills.

2. Member privileges and obligations

Member contributions are essential to the growth of the DAO, for this reason active members have the privilege of being rewarded. However, members also have a series of commitments and responsibilities towards the success of the DAO. In accordance with this, BioDAO encourages its entire community to be active members and not just spectators.

Therefore:

1. Participate in the creation, feedback, voting and execution of proposals. Check the process here:

Proposals information

1. Join the community calls to keep up with the progress of the DAO, as well as to share ideas and comments with other members.
2. If you are part of a working group or you are in charge of executing a proposal, you commit to making a high-quality contribution within the stipulated times.
3. Members must be respectful of other members, and in the event of a conflict, agree to contact a moderator to resolve it appropriately.

Rewards

Active contributors, who are part of the working groups or execute proposals can receive a reward of $BIO for their contributions. In some cases, given the highly specialized nature of the biotech industry and lower proficiency of its participants in Web3, BioDAO will remunerate experts in fiat-currencies.

How to get involved?

For now, the reward system is still under construction, so early contributors will get BIO tokens once the reward system is defined. For this, the data of the contributor, as well as their contribution and the time invested, will be registered in the database of each working group.
